I'm building team to develop a risk-management platform for an innovative HR tech startup in Paris. I'm also contributing to development with Laravel PHP framework, deployed with Heroku pipelines, controlled with a home-made CI platform, versionned on GitHub.
Our team was involved with the development of the company's product: a solidarity oriented social website. I contributed to the overhaul of the whole platform, and especially to the database. I also designed several in-house tools using Laravel and Lumen. Main technologies involved were PHP, Symfony 2, Web Components.
Advertising on Internet is hard, though Sublime Skinz has become successful by using a innovative RTB solution for skinning websites with promotional contents. We were dealing with tons of hits every hour on the platform and scalability was key. I Had the chance to participate briefly in that adventure.
This job is one of my most memorable work experience: we were a small team, in a small company in Paris, with a lot of ambition. Though the company wasn't successful in the end, we manage to deliver and maintain a full, custom DSP platform running on top of Big Data technologies such as Kafka and Hadoop. It was also the first time for me to discover what heavy loads really, it's common law in advertising.
Working for the biggest Internet media player of france was a very interesting experience. During my time at CCM Benchmark, I understood what it takes to work on a very old codebase, how sensitive changes can be as it could break the user experience for millions. It was also my first time discovering PostgreSQL.
What I remember the most from Meetic (aka match.com in America) was the size of the company. With more than 100 collaborators, the right methodologies & processes are key. It was my first encounter with KanBan and SCRUM. Again, it was a marvelous human experience too and I loved my time there.
My Firts "real" job; MCTel empowered me with the responsibility of desiging, developing and maintaining the company procuct's back-offices, mostly with PHP. I learned a lot there on web technologies as the PHP ecosystem was blooming at the same time. I contributed to the database design using Normal Forms, I participated in meetings with customers to understand their needs and design the best interface, I designed bridges between a wide range of application, and ultimately, I owe my team there the skills I possess now.
Managing a team and doing my fair share of coding while constantly learning at the same time is demanding. So in order to unwind I run the streets of Paris by night and hit the gym whenever I can. I also enjoy cooking for my familly, friends and colleagues. I really love sharing my passions with my teamates.
I'm also an avid learner, I read a lot of articles and watch videos about science, fitness & nutrition, sociology & psychology, biology & medecine. I also made an habit of self-teaching management and technology on plateforms like Lynda. I strive to be the best in my field of expertise.
Oh and by the way, I'm french and you may ask me anything about my country.
